Lori Whitesides, Secretary
Why did you join the ACE PTCO and what is your favorite part about being involved?
I joined the ACE PTCO to become more involved with my child's school. As a parent, it's important to me to be able to support my child's education and be a part of making their school years memorable and enjoyable. The teachers and staff devote so much of their time and energy into everything school-related that as parents, it's important for us to also lend our support to our kids and the staff. It helps create a sense of community within the school. My favorite part of being involved is organizing school events and activities that are fun for all kids.
What PTCO activities or committees do you work on during the year?
The committees I'm currently involved with are: Back to School Carnival, Marmots on the Run, Mums, Veterans Day Parade Float, and Our new spring event. Behind-the-scenes I am involved in updating of bylaws, creating the agenda and recording minutes of all our meetings, and supporting and volunteering for other PTCO and school events.
What grade(s) are your kid(s) in and what do they think about you being on the PTCO?
I currently have a 4th and 1st grader. They think it's great as now they get to go to all the school events.
What do you do outside of PTCO?
Outside of PTCO, I work full-time as a Safety Education & Experience Manager.
Random facts, tragic truths, or superfluous sundries:
In my free time, I enjoy doing crafts such as painting, crocheting, diamond art, or anything else that I get suckered into buying at Michaels. During the summer, my husband, our two kids and, our cat Walter, and I enjoy traveling in our 5th wheel.
