Grant Requests
Our PTO allocates a certain amount of funds each year to go toward grant requests. While these are usually completed by ACE staff, we also accept grant requests from students or community members.
Grant requests for the 2024-2025 school year will be accepted from Monday, September 25, through March 1, 2025. Please allow up to 30 days for requests to be reviewed. However, if you feel this request addresses an urgent need, please email treasurer@aceptco.com immediately after completing this form.
All items purchased via grant request become the immediate property of Aspen Crossing Elementary. PTO is not responsible for the maintenance, or repairs of any items purchased. Also, teachers and staff cannot take the granted items with them if they leave their employment at Aspen Crossing Elementary.
As stated in our bylaws, the mission and purpose of the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) at Aspen Crossing is to "assist in attaining the highest level of education and welfare for the entire student body of Aspen Crossing Elementary through the cooperative efforts of the Faculty and Staff, the Cherry Creek District community, and the Parents.
This PTO is a subordinate organization of the Cherry Creek School District Parent Teacher Community Council, Inc., otherwise known as CCSD Parents' Council.
This PTO is organized solely for charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes as defined in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code."
We keep that mission, as well as the guidelines put in place by the CCSD Parents' Council and the IRS at the forefront of our minds as we consider and vote on grant requests submitted by teachers, staff, and students. It is important to use funds to meet the needs of the students during the school year in which the funds were raised. PTOs are prohibited from granting funds to Closed Groups (any group that requires auditions, applications, or limited space). The IRS does not allow non-profit entities with the "Educational Support" mission to benefit individuals.
For more information on the PTO mission and guidelines used to determine grant funding, please refer to the PTCO Bylaws and Financial Policies, or contact a PTCO board member with any questions.
