Jill Skouson, President
Why did you join the ACE PTCO and what is your favorite part about being involved?
Now that all of my kids are in school all day, I have really been enjoying helping at school wherever I can. I think teachers are the best, and I want to support them in the important work they're doing for their students. I really enjoy being part of the community of PTCO, making new friends and working to help Aspen Crossing through events and fundraising. My favorite part of PTCO is definitely seeing the excitement of the kids at events I have helped put together.
What PTCO activities or committees do you work on during the year?
While helping with PTCO so far I have been able to help with the Fun Run, the Mum Sale, the Veteran's Day float, and have helped support Bingo Night, Penny Wars and the Trunk or Treat. I represent Aspen Crossing at Parent Council meetings, and stay active in the day to day business of PTCO. We have so many more fun activities to come!
What grade(s) are your kid(s) in and what do they think about you being on the PTCO?
My daughter is in 4th grade, and my twins are in Kindergarten. They seem happy to see me at school being involved!
What do you do outside of PTCO?
I love spending time with my family. I also love to read, play games, do escape rooms with friends, listen to podcasts, and watch Survivor. I also really enjoy volunteering at school. It makes me so happy to work with kids and teachers.
Random facts, tragic truths, or superfluous sundries:
I grew up in this area, and attended Thunder Ridge and Eaglecrest. I went to college at Southern Utah University, getting an elementary education degree, and then moved right back. My husband and I have lived here now for 18 years. Before my kids were born, I spent many years as a substitute teacher in Cherry Creek elementary schools which I loved.
